Two. Days. Left.
Ok, so maybe it’s not so dire as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, but time is seriously running out here.
The campaign ends Friday the 13th at 11:01 pm Pacific time. And that’s when the pre-release video offer expires. I’m likely going to set up a shop to sell some of our swag, but the streaming/DVD offer won’t be a part of it.
Why? Well, the film is in the festival circuit right now. Festivals understand that backers may get promised things, like pre-release copies of a film. But if I sell/distribute the film online in any regular way, it would harm my chances for distribution and further festival acceptance. After all, then it wouldn’t be “special” to audiences.
So as of 11:01 Friday the film extra goes away. Poof!
That means all these nifty packages that include a film? They vanish. I may still be selling playing cards, t-shirts and posters, but the DVD and streaming won’t be a part of the mix.
